The Javelin Odyssey Skydiving Container by Sun Path has been raising the bar for safety, comfort, and durability since the turn of the century, which is really just a fancy way of saying – since 2001.

It’s been a fan fave in the industry for years and continues to be one of the most popular skydiving containers in the world. Continually being chosen by more world champions than any other harness container system in the world and potentially the entire galaxy!

Standard features

CUT-IN LATERAL

The reputation the Odyssey has for comfort comes from the cut – in lateral. They keep the rig hugging your back.

SKYHOOK RSL COMPATIBILITY

All Javelin Odyssey’s are Skyhook compatible while having the Skyhook installed is a paid option. The SkyHook is a main assist reserve deployment system that uses a malfunctioning main to extract the reserve free-bag from the container and provide a fully inflated reserve in as little as 80 feet.

STAINLESS STEEL HARDWARE

Sun Path Products was one of the first harness container manufacturers to offer stainless steel hardware as a standard feature. The decision to stock only stainless steel hardware was twofold. 1. End the chance of hardware wearing out and 2. Reduce the wear on the harness itself. All Sun Path products are manufactured with stainless steel hardware.

KILL LINE PILOT CHUTE

Today’s main parachutes are more technically advanced than ever before. A collapsible main pilot chute is essential to getting the best performance out of the design of your main parachute. Also available are our freefly handle and pull out main pilot chute. Available on Hackey, Freefly Pud or Pull-Out handle (Standard on the Odyssey, paid option on the Legacy)

PHAT DADDY CUTAWAY HANDLE

Using a 3/4″ metal tube surrounded by padding and your choice of fabric (Javelin Odyssey only) this cutaway handle will be there when you need it most! Custom embroidery extra.

CHOICE OF RESERVE RIP CORD

Choose our stainless steel D-ring or soft (Phat Daddy) pillow Handle to customize your rig.

TYPE 7 HARNESS CONSTRUCTION

The most durable nylon webbing for this application. Type 7 webbing has a tensile strength of 6000 lbs. with a selvedge edge that resists abrasion and shows potential wear.

DEEP RESERVE HANDLE POCKET

For those who prefer the metal “D-ring” style reserve ripcord, a deep well pocket keeps your handle secure and in place until the time comes to use it!

ANTI TWIST MAIN RISERS

Teflon inserts in the housing for the excess cutaway cable prevent a line twist malfunction from becoming more difficult to release. The excess cutaway cable will slide out easily, even in the most extreme line twists on high performance canopies.

EASY GRIP MAIN AND RESERVE CONTROL TOGGLES

Keeping it simple, these control toggles are sewn down the back to create a loop that is easy to find during deployment.

Available Options

ARTICULATED HARNESS

Stainless steel rings at the hips and chest provide a pivot point for the main lift web. What was once a point where the harness would bind and pinch, now allows for a custom, comfortable fit with a secure harness without sacrificing mobility. Available in a four ring version (hip and chest) on the Javelin Legacy and two or four ring on the Odyssey.

SKYHOOK RSL

The SkyHook is a main assist reserve deployment system that uses a malfunctioning main to extract the reserve freebag from the container and provide a fully inflated reserve in as little as 80 feet. All Javelin Odyssey’s with a date of manufacture of February 2007 or later are Skyhook compatible.

“A” OR “V” STRIPE ON THE RESERVE PIN COVER

Adding an “A” or “V” stripe to your reserve pin cover or #3 flap is an another way to customize your Javelin Odyssey, add the optional pin stripes for an even more personal touch.

PIN STRIPES

Pin striping is available on the mid flap (A-E stripes), the reserve pop top and along with the “A” or “V” stripes.

STABILIZED LATERAL SYSTEM (S.L.S.)

Keeps the rig square on your back in all attitudes of flight.

SUN PATH BACKPAD (SPB)

This channeled back pad offers “standoff” between the rig and the jumpers back, allowing air to circulate, keeping the wearer cooler than a standard back pad. The back pad is available on the Javelin Odyssey in black.

EASY GRIP DIVE LOOPS

These dive loops have a design similar to our easy grip control toggles. Thanks to bungee sewn internally, these dive loops remain open and ready to help you steer your parachute to it maximum performance, yet stow away easily during packing.

B-12 SNAPS

For those jumpers with physical limitations, or who jump specialized gear like demo flags, that make standard step through leg strap hardware impractical.

ASYMMETRICAL CENTER FLAP OR SECTION “1A” A DIFFERENT COLOR

EXTENDED CHEST STRAP

For all you hard core canopy pilots, chest straps can be ordered in 2″ increments up to 12″ longer than our standard 19″.
